ABSTRACT

E-learning has the potential to provide for an engaging learningexperience catering to different learning styles and can meet the growing demand for quality education. Nevertheless, institutions have not been able to reap the full benefits of e-learning. Also considering the mandate for e-learning in contemporary Management education, institutions need to adopt student-centric effective e-learning systems. For positive learning outcomes there is a need to explore the impact of demographic factors on e-learning usage. This research examines the impact of institute location on e-learning usage and determines the influence of demographic factors on e-learning. A structured questionnaire-based survey was administered to students across management institutions in India. Of the total submissions, eight hundredcomplete and usable responses were considered for the study. Chi-square analysis was carried out to determine the association between demographic factors like gender, age, education and work experience on e-learning usage. Further chi-square analysis was performed to determine the impact of institute location on e-learning usage. The findings of this studyindicates that institute location influences e-learning usage. This study will be beneficial for institutions deploying e-learning system or planning to improve their existing e-learning system and could pave the way for further discussion as well as research in this field.
